ALUMNI NIGHT: Friday night at Spragins Hall will be Alumni Night as UAH welcomes back its volleyball alums for the contest. Presentation of an alumni card will grant free admission to the game for UAH volleyball graduates and their families, and the UAH Alumni Association will be present with free Charger spirit items available.

GILES RECOGNIZED: Freshman
Kirsten Giles earned GSC Freshman of the Week on Tuesday, the first UAH volleyball player to earn a weekly award. A Hazel Green, Alabama native, Giles led the Chargers with 65 total assists in two matches to go along with 17 digs, six kills, three blocks and an ace. She set a career high at Christian Brothers (9/16) with 50 assists.

SWINGING STRONG: Sophomore
Rachel Brugman and Morrison have led the Chargers to a .202 hitting percentage this season, which ranks fourth in the GSC. Morrison has an eighth-place standing in the league at a .305 attacking percentage, with Brugman right behind in ninth at .303. Â Â

ABOUT THE CHOCTAWS: Mississippi College enters the weekend on a nine-game losing streak that was extended by a midweek loss to Christian Brothers in four sets. Krista Zieschange leads the squad with 90 kills this season, while Holly Tupper owns a team-high 166 digs.

ABOUT THE BLAZERS: Valdosta State is fresh off a pair of wins this past weekend against Union and Christian Brothers. Jenna Kirkwood and Lea Jaklen have played well on offense for the Blazers accruing 97 kills and 92 kills, respectively. Jessica Codato leads the GSC with a 9.83 assist per set average.

MATCHUP HISTORY: The Chargers own a 7-4 all-time record against the Choctaws and a 24-15 series record against the Blazers. In the last matchup vs. Valdosta State, UAH fell in three sets at home on Oct. 25, 2013. UAH has not matched up against Mississippi College since the 1994 campaign.Â
