HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team notched a three-set win (25-18, 25-19, 25-14) over GSC opponent Mississippi College on Friday night at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall.

The Chargers (6-5, 4-3 GSC) played strong throughout the entire contest, totaling a team hitting percentage of .331 against the Choctaws (4-10, 0-7 GSC).

UAH and Mississippi College played a tightly contested opening set with the game tied at 16-16 late in the frame. The Chargers broke through the back-and-forth affair on a seven-point run to end the first set. Junior
Olivia Bauman, who finished with a team-high 13 kills, keyed the rally with a pair of kills.

The Choctaws held a lead at 13-12 midway through the second frame, but UAH was able to battle for a five-point rally to take a 17-13 advantage. The Chargers ended the 25-19 win in the second set on a three-point run.

UAH completed the victory with a convincing 25-14 win in the third set. UAH was able to take a commanding lead, 20-11, after a six-point run, and went on to finish the stanza on consecutive points for a 25-14 set-three score.

Anna Claire Johnson and junior
Haley Snyder chipped in double-digit kills with 10 apiece. Johnson finished the match with her fourth double-double of the season with 15 digs, while Snyder had a team-best .625 attacking percentage. Freshman
Kirsten Giles recorded a team-high 37 assists, her second straight contest with 30 assists or more.Â
