RINGING IN 2015: The Chargers will open the new calendar year on Saturday and Monday, welcoming a pair of conference foes from the Magnolia State. Winners of three of its last four to own a 6-6 (3-3 GSC) record, UAH will host Mississippi College at 2 p.m. on Saturday before entertaining Delta State at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

STRONG STRETCH: During the team's recent run of success that has seen the squad rise to fifth place among teams eligible for the postseason, strong shooting has been the key for UAH as the team has connected on 41.8 percent of its attempts in the past four games including a 57.6 percent mark over that same span from Halle Jarnagin. UAH has also been terrific at the charity stripe, earning 83 trips to the line and making 70 for a free throw percentage of 84.3 percent.

BIG LEADS: The Chargers have also taken advantage of building up big advantages in the three wins before Christmas, holding a double-figure advantage in each including an impressive 17-point advantage on the road at always-tough Lee.

BALANCED EFFORT: Jarnagin continues to be the only Charger in double figures with 11.1 points per game, but a trio of upper classmen and two freshmen are all scoring better than five points per game in the form of Shannon Steinert (8.7), Dina Saunders (7.3), Josi Saunders (7.0), Loren Foster (6.5) and Caroline Dodd (5.3).

ABOUT MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE: The team travels to the Rocket City with a 6-4 (2-4 GSC) record, and the Choctaws will be playing just their third road contest of the season. Prior to Christmas, the team won two of three, including an impressive home victory over GSC-leading West Florida, and Kirsten Sampson and Ashley Minor lead MC with 11.8 and 11.4 points per contest, respectively.

WELCOME BACK: The Choctaws are making a return to the GSC and Division II, slated to become full-time members once again for the 2016-17 year. Contests against MC count in the standings, but MC is not yet eligible for the postseason.

SERIES HISTORY: The two programs met just four times prior to MC dropping down to Division III, and the all-time series is tied at 2-2. The last meeting came on Nov. 30, 1996.

ABOUT DELTA STATE: The Lady Statesmen travel to North Alabama on Saturday before venturing to Huntsville, and they are currently 4-6 (2-4 GSC) as the squad has struggled on the road with an 0-4 mark. Leading the way for DSU is Chelsey Rhodes who averages 15.0 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY: Delta State holds a 15-4 advantage in the all-time series, including taking both games a season ago. The Chargers, however, have had some recent success against the Lady Statesmen, winning twice in the 2012-13 campaign.
