LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team traveled to West Alabama on Saturday and snapped UWA's 19-game home winning streak, hanging on for a 72-70 victory. The Chargers improve to 15-6 (10-5 GSC), while UWA falls to 14-9 (9-6 GSC).

With Union's loss, the Chargers are now alone in third place behind West Georgia and Shorter who are tied for first.

Four players scored double figures for UAH with
Seab Webster's 15 leading the way.
Preston Herring scored 13,
Troy Saxton added 12 and
Taylor Chapman came off the bench to score 10.
Greg Gardner added a team-best nine rebounds while dishing out three assists to go along with five points.

The Chargers led by as many as 15 in the second half, but West Alabama narrowed the deficit with a late run and eventually pulled to within one at 71-70 in the closing seconds. Chapman, however, made a free throw to put UAH up by two, and UWA's 3-point try at the buzzer missed to give the visitors an important conference win.

The first half featured five ties and seven lead changes, but the Chargers built up as much as a seven-point advantage late in the opening period to go into the locker room up 30-25 at the half. Especially impressive in the stanza for UAH was Saxton who was 4-for-5 from the floor to score nine points in the half.

For the contest, UAH shot 47.1 percent including a 7-for-15 showing from beyond the arc, outshooting West Alabama who connected on 41.5 percent of its attempts. The hosts won the rebounding battle 41-33.

UWA was led by Kenric McCants who scored 21.

The Chargers will return to action on Thursday when UAH will welcome Lee to the Rocket City. In the matchup between the two teams in December on the road, UAH fell 81-62.
