Charger Park RECENT ACTION: The Chargers are 4-3-0 and 2-0-0 within the GSC after opening league play with shutout wins over Mississippi College and Delta State this past weekend. UAH is one of three teams to be undefeated in conference play after the first weekend of GSC action.
THE WEEK'S BEST: Senior
Michael Winstone was honored as GSC Defender of the Week for his performance in the pair of shutouts against MC and DSU to open league play. Winstone made three saves in each contest for a total of six on the weekend, and has currently played 279 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal.
DEFENSE SHINES: UAH has compiled three consecutive shutouts in wins over North Georgia, Mississippi College and Delta State, which gives the squad a total of four clean sheets in 2015. With Winstone as the anchor in net, the Chargers defense is stabilized by senior
John Imwalle and freshman
Jon Michael Stern who have each played 570 or more minutes. So far this year, the Chargers have held teams to 31 corner kicks, including just five corners in the first half.
BUCS PROFILE: Christian Brothers enters the weekend with an 8-1-0 overall record and a 1-1-0 mark in league games, following a 2-0 win over Spring Hill and a 4-1 loss to No. 17 West Florida to begin conference play. CBU is led offensively by Samuel Wilson with eight goals and two assists, while Britton McGuire has started all nine games in net with 18 saves and a 1.06 goals against average.
MATCHUP HISTORY: UAH is 15-14-3 all-time against CBU, with the most recent matchup ending in a 1-0 win for Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tennessee in 2014.
BULLDOGS PROFILE: Union comes into the week's slate with a 4-4-0 overall record and a 2-0 record in conference play after opening the GSC schedule with wins over No. 17 West Florida and Spring Hill. Andre Silva leads the team with three goals and one assists, while Matt Kesler has logged the most time in goal accruing 19 saves and a 0.83 goals against average.
MATCHUP HISTORY: The Chargers have a 3-4-0 all-time series record against the Bulldogs as UAH won the most recent matchup by a 1-0 score in Jackson, Tennessee last season. Winstone made two saves in the shutout in 2014.
