Charger ParkRECAPPING LAST WEEKEND: UAH maintained its spot atop the GSC standings by holding serve at home, knocking off West Florida 3-2 in double overtime thanks to a
Hermann Bjornsson PK with just nine seconds remaining before holding on for a 2-1 win over visiting Spring Hill as
Jordan Wright scored twice for the Chargers.
Â
INSIDE THE STREAK: The Chargers are a perfect 14-0 at Charger Park in the past two seasons. During the 14-game winning streak, UAH has won five overtime games for a total of nine contests decided by a single goal, and the Chargers have scored 46 times thanks to a streak-best 14-goal outburst against Oakwood earlier this season.
Â
THE WRIGHT WAY: Junior transfer
Jordan Wright has had a significant impact on the Chargers, leading the team with 13 goals and four assists for 30 points. Seven of those goals did come in the Oakwood game, but even without that game Wright would still be UAH's leading scorer as he has scored six times in UAH's last seven games and is currently on a three-game goal scoring streak.
PERFECT AT THE SPOT: With his successful PK on Friday night against West Florida, Bjornsson is now 3-for-3 on penalty attempts this season and is 4-for-4 for his career. The game-deciding goal also marked the second time Bjornsson has won a game for the Chargers from the spot, also scoring in overtime against Mississippi College in the 2014 season.
