HUNTSVILLE | The No. 4 University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team defeated Trevecca Nazarene by a score of 15-7 at Charger Park on Wednesday afternoon. UAH improves to 16-2-1, while TNU slips below .500 at 9-10.
The Chargers' bats were hot on Wednesday afternoon, as the squad totaled 17 hits and 15 runs against the Trojans, beginning with one run in the first on a
Ryan Barnes RBI single followed by a two-RBI double to right-center by
Tanner Cimo in the second to give UAH a 3-0 advantage.
Trevecca Nazarene fought back for one run in the third and fourth innings off UAH starting pitcher
Dalton Goss, who was efficient over 4.0 innings with one earned run allowed, three hits and two strikeouts.
UAH put together a four-run rally in the bottom of the fourth, which was followed by two runs in the fifth inning to put the Chargers ahead 9-2.

Chandler Brock, Cimo and Dugas registered RBI amongst the six runs scored over the fourth and fifth innings.
The Trojans cut the Chargers lead to 9-5 with a three-run seventh, before UAH erupted for a six-run bottom of the eighth that included RBI base hits by
Brandon Lawing,
Ben Rhodes,
Ben Hall and Burton. TNU added three runs in the ninth to bring the game to its final score of 15-7.
Wilson Adams was the pitcher of record on Wednesday, improving to 1-0 on the season with 2.0 scoreless innings of relief, three hits, one walk and one strikeout.
Burton, a senior, led the way for the offense with three hits, one run scored and two RBI. Five different Chargers registered two hits on the day, with Cimo pacing the bats with a season-high four RBI.
UAH looks ahead to a three-game series against Gulf South Conference opponent Delta State, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m. A single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. will wrap up the three-game set.
