HUNTSVILLE | The No. 7 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team earned its fourth series sweep of the season on Sunday, blowing past Delta State 9-1 on a rainy afternoon at Charger Park. UAH moves to 21-5 (14-2 Gulf South Conference) with the victory, and Delta State falls to 12-13 (3-8 GSC).

Offense was the story of the day, and the Chargers were paced by
Michal Robertson who hit two homers en route to driving in four runs, while
Kaitlyn Bannister had a pair of hits and matched Robertson's RBI total with four.

Helping the hosts outhit Delta State 9-5,
Brianna Sullivan also had a pair of hits on the day to move to .470 on the season, while Robertson moved over .400 as she is now hitting .413.

Bannister started the scoring for UAH, belting her team-leading seventh home run of the season in the first after
Victoria Frith led the frame off with a walk, and the Chargers would go in front 5-0 with a three-run third that was keyed by a two-run shot from Robertson.

Busting the contest wide open, the Chargers scored four times in the fourth as Bannister had a two-run double that was followed by Robertson's second dinger to make it 9-0 before DSU would score a run in the fifth to produce the eventual 9-1 final.

Emily Glover went the distance for UAH in the circle, picking up her third win of the season to move to 3-2. The sophomore scattered five hits and allowed just the one run while striking out five.

UAH will return to action on Wednesday with a non-conference contest at first-year program Montevallo before heading to Florence to take on North Alabama for a three-game set next Friday and Saturday.
