MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The No. 7 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team ran its winning streak to 11 games on Wednesday, sweeping a doubleheader at Montevallo by winning 7-1 in game one and following that up with a 4-1 victory. The Chargers move to 23-5 on the year, while Montevallo slips to 17-22.

UAH will now turn its attention to a rivalry showdown with No. 15 North Alabama in Florence this Saturday and Sunday.

Taylor Doriety was strong in the circle on the day, picking up a win in relief in the first game before earning the save in the second game. In a combined seven innings, she surrendered just two hits while striking out seven on her way to lowering her season ERA to 0.86.

In the day's first game, the Chargers outhit the Falcons 15-6 en route to scoring runs in five of the seven innings, and it was the 2-3-4 hitters that drove in six of the team's runs with
Brianna Sullivan and
Kaitlyn Bannister driving in a pair while
Michal Robertson also knocked in a run.

Six Chargers had a multi-hit performance in the contest with both
Tyler Harrison and
Victoria Crumpton recording three hits, while
Victoria Frith and
Abby Roberts joined Sullivan and Bannister with a pair of hits.

Haley Thompson drew a pair of walks to score twice, and Frith matched her with a pair of runs as the Chargers scored twice in the first before crossing the plate once in the second.

After Montevallo made it a 3-1 game in the third, the visitors again crossed the plate twice in the fourth, once in the fifth and again in the seventh to produce the 7-1 final.

In the nightcap, the Chargers scored a run in each of the first, third, fourth and fifth innings, turning a 2-1 lead after three innings into the 4-1 victory.

Crumpton continued her strong day at the plate, matching her first-game total with another three hits while Bannister, Robertson and Harrison each had a pair to help the Chargers outhit the Falcons 11-4.

Increasing her season total to a team-best eight, Bannister homered in the first to give UAH the early lead, and Roberts and Harrison also drove in runs in the game.

UAH's other run came on a double steal in the fourth when Crumpton stole home while Sullivan swiped second.

Emily Glover (4-2) earned the victory in the circle, tossing 2.1 innings in relief, and she allowed just one hit and no runs.

The Chargers were a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts on the night.
