HOMEWOOD, Ala. | It was another thriller between UAH and Union on Friday night, and it was the Chargers who advanced to the championship of the 2015 VisitSpaceCoast.com GSC Men's Basketball Tournament with a 77-75 win in overtime. UAH improves to 22-8 on the season, while Union drops to 20-10.

The Chargers will take on the winner of West Alabama and West Georgia on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
 
With the Chargers trailing 75-74 at the midway point of the overtime period, Taylor Chapman hit a 3-pointer with 2:10 left to put the Chargers up 77-75, and UAH then held the Bulldogs scoreless in the final two minutes with Justin Ward and Troy Saxton picking up key defensive rebounds to help seal the victory.
 
Ronnie Macks scored 17 on the strength of five triples to lead UAH in the game, and three others joined him in double figures including Ward who came off the bench to score 14. Preston Herring added 13, while Saxton chipped in with 11.
 
Marterrace Brock paced Union with 25 points.
 
The game mirrored that which the teams played in Jackson, Tennessee, earlier this season as it featured a stunning 16 lead changes and 13 ties, and neither team led by more than six in the contest.
 
Union's six-point advantage came in the first two minutes of the game as the Bulldogs hit consecutive treys to go in front 6-0 early, but a Saxton layup at 13:39 of the first half would put UAH in front for the first time as the Chargers went on to lead at the half 41-40.
 
The first big momentum swing of the half belonged to UAH as the Chargers pushed out to their six-point lead when a Mack 3-ball fell at the 9:12 mark to put the tournament's top seed up 61-55, and the Chargers would lead the rest of regulation until an Ashanti Day layup fell with just over a minute left in the period to create a 71-71 tie.
 
The Chargers then held Union without a successful field goal in the overtime period on the way to the victory.
 
For the game, UAH shot 48.2 percent from the field while Union connected on 47.5 percent of its attempts, and the Bulldogs won the battle on the glass, grabbing 32 rebounds to UAH's 23.
 
Despite being outrebounded, the Chargers held a 9-4 advantage in second-chance points, the UAH reserves were able to outscore Union's bench 23-10 thanks to Ward's showing and Chapman's seven-point performance.
