HUNTSVILLE | Cruising to a home-opening win behind a record-breaking performance, the University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team defeated visiting Oakwood 14-0 on Monday night at Charger Park. UAH improves to 1-1 on the season with the victory, while Oakwood falls to 0-1.
Junior newcomer
Jordan Wright scored seven times and added an assist to break a 34-year-old mark for points in a game with 15. The old record of 14 was set by Greg Feigl on Sept. 27, 1981.

Wright's seven goals also tied the record for scores in a contest, matching Feigl's total from the 1981 contest. In total, 11 players logged a spot on the score sheet with
James Ballamy also recording a multi-goal performance with three on the night to join
John Imwalle,
Hermann Bjornsson,
Tucker Watts, and
Benaiah Shaw in tallying goals.

The strike for Watts marks the first for the freshman, while Shaw's score is his first in the Blue and White after transferring to UAH from Lipscomb.

Sophomore
Daniel Buchanan led the way in setting up scores for the Chargers, logging three assists, while newcomers
Guy Clennett and
Alex Martinez both recorded a pair of helpers.
Jon Michael Stern,
Nathan Strouth, Bjornsson and Wright also each added an assist.

UAH will next hit the road to the Sunshine State, traveling to Central Florida to take on NCAA South Region foes Florida Southern and Rollins this Friday and Sunday, respectively.
