RIVALRY RENEWED: The 76th meeting between UAH and North Alabama will take place on Saturday in Florence, as the Chargers carry an 8-6 (5-5 Gulf South Conference) record into the contest. Tip-off at Flowers Hall on the UNA campus is set for 1 p.m.

RECAPPING LAST WEEK: The Chargers went toe-to-toe with nationally-ranked Union last Saturday at home before ultimately coming up just short in an 89-85 setback, but the team responded with a 75-65 win over Christian Brothers on Monday as Dina Saunders went off for 32 points.

AROUND THE GSC: To say things are tightly bunched ahead of sixth-place UAH would be a gross understatement as Union is in first with a 9-2 record that is only half a game better than the next four teams – Delta State, Shorter, Lee, and West Florida – who are all 8-2. Valdosta State and Christian Brothers are in seventh and eighth with records of 4-6 and 4-7, respectively.

COMING ON STRONG: With her 32-point performance against CBU, Dina Saunders now ranks 10th in the GSC in scoring average in conference play, averaging 13.3 points per game in those contests, and she also ranks 10th when all games considered as she leads UAH with 12.5 points per contest.

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE: UAH is by far the best team in the conference at the charity stripe as the Chargers are hitting free throws at an 80.8 percent clip, more than three percentage points better than second-ranked Delta State's 77.6 percent, and that mark is also good for second among all Division II schools.

ABOUT NORTH ALABAMA: The Lions are 2-13 (1-8 GSC) on the year and have lost six in a row, but both of the team's wins have come at Flowers Hall. KeKe Gunter leads the Lions both in scoring and on the glass as she owns a scoring average of 14.2 points per contest to go along with a rebounding mark of 4.4 rebounds per contest.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers are 21-54 all-time against UNA after the Lions won both meetings last season. In Florence a year ago, UNA won 76-64 despite Halle Jarnagin recording a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
