RECENT ACTION: After a win to start the week at West Georgia, the Chargers trekked to Orlando, Florida, to participate in the South Region Crossover where UAH fell to No. 14 Palm Beach Atlantic and Lynn before upending No. 22 Florida Southern to wrap up the weekend. UAH is now 14-7 overall and 7-4 within the GSC, which is good for fourth in the conference standings entering the week.

Anna Claire Johnson had one of her strongest performances of the season in the win over No. 22 Florida Southern on Saturday, as she posted a season-high 18 kills to go along with a .341 hitting percentage. Johnson now has 202 kills on the season, which is the third time in her career that she has notched 200 or more kills.

HOME COOKING: Tuesday's match at West Alabama will be the final game of a seven-match road swing, prior to the squad returning home for weekend matches against Shorter and Lee. UAH boasts a 9-0 record when playing at Spragins Hall this season, and the squad is one of three teams in the GSC to have not lost a home match so far in 2016.

PACING THE DEFENSE: Haley Hop continued her strong sophomore campaign this past week with a team-high 64 digs and a 4.57 digs per set average in four matches. Hop has totaled 20 or more digs in a match on six occasions, and she's currently sixth in the GSC with 292 digs this season.

TIGERS PROFILE: West Alabama enters the week with a 12-11 overall record and a 5-6 mark within the GSC, after most recently dropping matches at the South Region Crossover to Nova Southeastern, Eckerd and Barry. Briana Sandifer (298 kills) and Yanesha Johnson (249 kills) lead the West Alabama offense, while Abby Ames boasts a team-high 270 digs. UAH defeated West Alabama earlier this season by a 3-1 score in Huntsville, which brings the Chargers record to 38-26 all-time against the Tigers.

HAWKS PROFILE: Shorter starts the week with a 14-5 overall record and a 9-2 record within the Gulf South Conference, following a trio of losses at the South Region Crossover to Tampa, Palm Beach Atlantic and Florida Southern. Elizabeth Dowd paces the Hawks offense with 206 kills to go along with 274 digs, while Cheyenne McLemore has a team-best 287 digs and a 4.28 digs per set average. The Chargers lost the first matchup of the season against the Hawks in Rome, Georgia on Sept. 17, dropping UAH's all-time record to 1-12 against Shorter.

FLAMES PROFILE: Lee starts off the week's slate with an 8-10 record overall and 4-6 within the GSC, after notching a win over Rollins and falling to Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle at the South Region Crossover. Silvia Sartori's 224 kills leads the Flames offensively, with MaKayla Beebe owning a team-high 326 digs. The Chargers are 23-14 all-time against the Flames, following UAH's 3-1 win at Lee earlier this season on Sept. 16.
