Hermann Bjornsson notched a hat trick on Sunday as The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team steamrolled past host Spring Hill on Sunday, knocking off the Badgers 7-2. UAH improves to 5-9-1 (3-4-1 Gulf South Conference), while SHC falls to 2-11-1 (1-8-0 GSC).

The Chargers clinched the No. 6 seed in the GSC tournament with the victory, marking the fourth straight berth for the team.

Turning Point
-With the game tied at 2-2 after the halftime break,
Corentin Diverres scored just 41 seconds into the second half to spark a stunning five-goal showing in the stanza for the visitors.

Inside the Box Score
-After Spring Hill opened the scoring with a goal in the 13th, Bjornsson scored in rapid-fire fashion as he tallied in the 27th and 29th minutes to put the Chargers up 2-1.
-Ibrahima Ndaw then leveled the contest at 2-2 in the 37th minute to create the score that would last through the break.
-After Diverres scored in the 46th to put UAH in front, Bjornsson scored his third of the night in the 51st to put UAH up 4-2.

James Narke then got in on the scoring action as he scored in the 54th and 70th minutes, and
Sergio Delgado capped off the big offensive night for UAH when he scored in the 83rd.

Guy Clennett and
Daniel Buchanan assisted on Narke's first goal with Buchanan picking up the assist on the second, and Diverres earned the helper on Delgado's score.
-For the game, UAH outshot Spring Hill by a 22-15 clip including a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Gabriel Chilas stopped a shot and earned the win in goal for the Chargers while logging nearly 71 minutes.
Myles Fullen played the remainder of the game and also recorded a save.

Noteworthy
-The hat trick for Bjornsson is UAH's first of the season, and it is the first since
Jordan Wright scored seven times against Oakwood on Sept. 7 last season.
-Bjornsson's three-goal showing is his highest single-game performance, and it provides him with his third career multi-goal contest.
-Bjornssson takes over the team lead in points with 22 on nine goals and four assists. Sitting just behind the senior is Narke who has 21 points on a team-best 10 goals and one assist.
-Narke has now scored two goals in every other game during a seven-game stretch as the junior has four multi-goal performances this season.
-The score for Diverres is his first game-winning strike, and his performance on Sunday is his first three-point game of the season.
-Delgado's strike is his first career goal.
-Buchanan now has a team-best six assists on the season after recording the pair.

-UAH will close out the regular season slate on the road this Friday when the team travels to West Alabama. Kickoff in Livingston is slated for 7 p.m.
