RECENT ACTION: The Chargers hit the road for a pair of matches this past weekend, coming away with a pair of five-set losses to Union on Friday and Christian Brothers on Saturday. UAH now holds a 14-12 overall record and a 7-9 mark within the GSC.

RIVALRY RENEWED: Tuesday's match will be the 71st meeting between the two rivaled programs, with UAH holding a 17-53 all-time record against UNA after falling in three sets to the Lions on Sept. 29 in Florence, Alabama. The Chargers won the last matchup at Spragins Hall on Oct. 1 of last year in three sets over the Lions.

RISING FRESHMAN: A Birmingham, Alabama, native,
Caroline Sanford continues to excel early into her collegiate career, as the freshman posted 21 kills on a .267 hitting percentage in addition to 11.0 total blocks in two matches this past weekend. Sanford – who registered a season-high 15 kills at CBU on Saturday – is currently third on the roster with 163 kills and rates fourth overall in the GSC with 78 total blocks.

DEFENSIVE ANCHOR:
Haley Hop totaled 36 digs – 18 apiece at Union and CBU – in matches this past week, which gives the sophomore a total of 372 digs and a 4.04 digs per set average so far this season. Hop ranks fifth in the GSC in total digs, while holding a sixth-place standing in the league in digs per set.

ON THE ATTACK:
Anna Claire Johnson – who has totaled at least 200 kills per season with UAH – currently leads the squad with 255 kills and a 2.83 kills per set average in 2016. Through 26 games this season, Johnson ranks ninth in the GSC in total kills and kills per set.

GSC UPDATE: North Alabama (13-3 GSC) enters the week in a two-way tie for first place in the GSC standings with Shorter (13-3 GSC), followed by West Florida (12-3 GSC) in third, CBU (9-7 GSC) in fourth, and Valdosta State (8-7 GSC) in fifth. Both Lee and West Alabama are tied in sixth with an 8-8 GSC record, with UAH following in eighth with a 7-9 conference mark.
