UAH Drops Series Final to Alaska Fairbanks

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team dropped the WCHA series finale to Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday night at the Von Braun Center by a final score of 3-1. UAH slips to 4-8-2 (4-4-2 WCHA), while UAF improves to 4-7-1 (3-4-1 WCHA).

- After UAH took a 1-0 lead into first intermission, Alaska Fairbanks totaled two goals in the second frame by Tayler Munson at 15:43 and by Chad Staley at 17:25 en route to the 3-1 victory.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Sophomore Hunter Anderson led off the scoring on Saturday night with an early marker in the first period at 2:36, thanks to assist by Kurt Gosselin and Cam Knight.
- After UAF totaled its two goals in the second period, the Nanooks iced the contest with an empty-netter at 19:59 of the period to bring the game to its 3-1 final.
- Carmine Guerriero made his first start in goal in the 2016-17 on Saturday, and the senior totaled 23 saves despite incurring the loss.
