PHOTOS
HUNTSVILLE | Going into the holiday break on a positive note, the No. 11 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team stopped its two-game slide by knocking off visiting West Alabama 75-57 on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 6-3 (2-1 Gulf South Conference), while UWA slips to 4-4 (0-3 GSC).

Turning Point
-After UWA had cut its deficit to single digits for the first time in nearly 10 minutes at 58-50 with 6:59 left in the game, the Chargers went on a 8-0 run that included a pair of 3-pointers from Tanner Finley to go back ahead by 16 and effectively seal the contest.

Inside the Box Score
-Seab Webster led the Chargers on the afternoon, going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc en route to his second consecutive 20-point showing, and the senior notched a double-double as he also grabbed a team-best 12 rebounds.
-For good measure, Webster added three assists and a steal.
-Kip Owens joined Webster in double figures as he scored 16 to go along with five rebounds, and Finley came off the bench to score 14 on a perfect 4-for-4 night from beyond the arc.
-Jahmal Lane was the lone UWA player to register double figures in scoring as he had 15.
-The Chargers finished the night shooting 50.9 percent overall and were 13-for-25 from 3-point land, while UWA shot 40.0 percent and was just 5-for-25 from long-range.
-UAH held a slim 31-30 advantage on the glass.

Inside the Flow
-After West Alabama opened the game with four straight points, the Chargers would go on a 9-2 run that saw four different players score to put the hosts up 9-6 at the 15:52 mark of the opening half.
-The game remained tight through the remainder of the first period with the largest lead coming at the 2:56 mark when a Finley 3-pointer made it 30-24, and the Chargers would hold a 34-29 advantage at the break after a Webster bucket closed the scoring in the half.
-That Webster layup started what would end up being a 9-0 run for the Chargers into the second half, and UAH would hold UWA off the board for the first five minutes of the second stanza on the way to building up a 41-29 lead.
-The advantage for the Chargers would balloon to as many as 19 points when another Finley trey made it 55-36 with 11:42 left, but that was when UWA made its last push – a 14-3 run that culminated with the Tigers pulling back within eight.
-UAH ended the game outscoring the guests 17-7 over the final 6:33.

Noteworthy
-The double-double for Webster is his fifth of the season, and with the scoring performance, his average is now 16.3 points per game – the highest mark for him since it was 16.5 points per contest on Nov. 19.
-Finley turns in his best outing of the year, matching the number of 3-pointers he had made in the team's previous eight games combined.
-The 13 made treys by the Chargers is a season-high for the team as is the 52.0 percent success rate from downtown.

Next Time Out
-UAH will now be off until the team returns to action on the road at West Florida on New Year's Eve. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. in Pensacola.
