UAH Falls to Bemidji State in Series Finale

BEMIDJI, Minn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team lost the WCHA series finale at rival Bemidji State on Saturday night by a final score of 6-2 at the Sanford Center. UAH slips to 6-20-6 (4-15-6 WCHA), while BSU improves to 15-13-6 (10-11-5 WCHA).

Bemidji State led early into Saturday's contests as John Parker scored 11 seconds into the game, before the Beavers took a 3-0 lead into first intermission with tallies by Gerry Fitzgerald at 15:20 and Myles Fitzgerald at 19:28.

After the break, Parker made it a 4-0 Beavers advantage at 3:41 of the middle period, with Brandon Parker later cutting into the BSU lead at 10:14 of the frame for his third goal of the season. Senior Jack Prince and junior Brandon Carlson were credited with assists on the marker.

The Beavers' Myles Fitzgerald went on to add a goal at 15:57 in the second frame to give the hosts a 5-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.

Both squads added a goal in the third period to bring the game to its 6-2 final, with Madison Dunn scoring his fourth of the season at 6:30 of the stanza. Dunn was assisted by Parker and Cam Knight on the goal.

Matt Larose's record slips to 4-7-4 on the year after totaling 32 saves and six goals allowed on Saturday night.

The Blue and White will wrap up the 2015-16 season at home next weekend with a visit from Bowling Green on Friday and Saturday night. Puck drops at 7:07 p.m. for both contests.
