CARROLLTON, Ga. | The second-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team bounced back from Saturday's nightcap setback, taking the series from West Georgia with a 7-3 victory in the rubber match on Sunday afternoon. UAH improves to 18-3 (8-1 Gulf South Conference), while UWG slips to 12-6 (4-5 GSC).

Taylor Wascavage had a three-hit, two-RBI day from the top of the lineup,
Haley Thompson drove in three runs, and
Tyler Harrison picked up her 11th win in the circle to lead the Chargers to the victory.

Additionally,
Kaitlyn Bannister tied Stephanie Pinto's program record for career sacrifice flies as she picked up her 14th of her UAH tenure in the fourth inning.

Harrison went the distance for her 10th complete game of the season, and she retired nine straight to start the game before finishing the game by scattering five hits while striking out eight and walking none.

The scoring started for the Chargers in the first as the team took a 1-0 lead when
Savannah Smith reached on a fielder's choice while knocking in Bannister for her 23rd RBI of the year, and the visitors added a pair of runs in the fourth when Wascavage drove in her first run of the game and Bannister had the sac fly.

Another two-run inning for UAH came in the top of the fifth when Thompson recorded a run-scoring fielder's choice and Wascavage added another RBI single, and after UWG struck for three runs in the bottom of the sixth, Thompson produced the 7-3 final with a two-run home run in the top half of the seventh.

The Chargers outhit West Georgia on the day by an 11-5 clip, with Bannister and
Lexi Beach both joining Wascavage in recording a multi-hit showing as both picked up a pair.

Harrison walked twice to help UAH draw five free passes, moving the team's season total to 128.

UAH will return to action on Tuesday when the team travels to Stillman for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
