UAH Routs Tennessee Wesleyan 21-7 on Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team dominate Tennessee Wesleyan to a 21-7 victory on Saturday afternoon at Charger Park in a nonconference matchup. UAH improves to 7-2 in the inaugural season, while TWC slips to 4-2.

The Chargers opened the game with a string of 10 unanswered goals on Saturday, with reigning GSC Player of the Week Natalie Pachinger scoring the Blue and White's first and second tallies at 29:37 and 29:25, respectively.

Pachinger went on to add two more goals in the initial rally to lead UAH with four goals at the midway point of the first half, while three-time GSC Freshman of the Week Nicole Federovitch added three goals during that span.

Tennessee Wesleyan's Taylor Barganier scored the first Bulldog goal of the game at 14:14, which was quickly negated by Megan Hartnett's 14th of the season at 13:02. TWC scored again at 5:54, before Federovitch and Elizabeth Brown recorded goals in the final three minutes of the opening half to make it a 13-2 Charger lead.

The Bulldogs opened the second half with three straight goals, prior to the Chargers rallying for six consecutive markers highlighted by Megan Olivia Hart with three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

After the string of goals, each side added two goals over the final 12 minutes of play to bring the game to its 21-7 final score.

Following Federovitch's five goals, Brown and Pachinger had five goals apiece in the victory with Pachinger adding five ground balls and three draw controls to the effort.

Haleigh Comp improves to 7-2 in goal with the win on Saturday, notching a total of five saves in 60 minutes against the Bulldogs.

The Chargers look ahead to a three-game road swing with trips to District of Columbia (March 20), Alderson Broaddus (March 22) and Davis & Elkins (March 23).
