Sophomore
Natalie Pachinger led the Chargers with six points on five goals and one assist to go along with a team-best five ground balls, five draw control and three caused turnovers.
Alderson Broaddus' Brooke Thomas gave the hosts an early lead with a goal 70 seconds into the contest, but the Chargers would take the advantage with tallies by
Nicole Federovitch at 28:00 and Pachinger at 24:55.
However, four consecutive markers for the Battlers followed by goals from each side brought the ABU lead to 6-3, prior to goals by
Megan Hartnett and
Elizabeth Brown within 30 seconds of each other to draw UAH within one.
Each side would add two more tallies before the end of the half to make it an 8-7 Battlers lead through 30 minutes of play, with Pachinger posting two of her five goals in the last four minutes.
The beginning of the second half was a back-and-forth affair as goals by
Emily Wiegand and Federovitch were negated by two Alderson Broaddus markers, before three straight tallies by Wiegand, Megan Hart, and Pachinger put UAH ahead 12-10.
Alderson Broaddus fought back with goals by Makyriah Jones and Jasmine Barham at 7:16 and 6:36, respectively, to even the contest, but Pachinger went on to score the game-winning goal at 5:49 with Federovitch providing insurance with her third of the game at 4:17 to bring the contest to its 14-12 final.
