TUSCALOOSA, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team dropped a Wednesday matchup at Stillman by a final score of 3-1 to open the week's four-game slate. UAH dips to 19-13, while Stillman improves to 10-20.
Â
Freshman
Taylor Clemons made the first start of his collegiate career in the Wednesday contest, working a perfect 3.0 innings with three strikeouts to start the game before turning it over to the bullpen. Clemons' season ERA dips to 0.81, and he has now struck out 23 batters in 2016 compared to just four walks.
Â
Riley Camp came on in relief of Clemons to post zeros in the fourth and fifth innings, with the Chargers taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth as
Michael Fox scored on a wild pitch.
Â
However, Camp allowed one run in the sixth to allow the Tigers to knot the game, before Stillman went on to add two more runs for the 3-1 lead which went on to be Wednesday's final. Whitlock was tagged with the loss to slip his season record to 0-1 for allowing two unearned runs in the seventh.
Â
Fox led the Chargers offense with a 2-for-3 performance with one run scored and a stolen base, with
Matt Spruill,
Austin Sanders and
Tanner Gardner adding one base hit apiece to the effort.

UAH looks ahead to a three-game series at Charger Park and a return to Gulf South Conference play this weekend as rival North Alabama visits the Rocket City.
