UAH Tops North Greenville 12-8 in Regular Season Finale

TIGERVILLE, S.C. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team topped North Greenville by a final score of 12-8 on Saturday afternoon to wrap up the 2016 regular season slate. UAH improves to 13-3, while NGU slips to 8-7.

The UAH offense was paced by Megan Olivia Hart's five points from four goals and one assist to go along with a team-best six draw controls, followed by Natalie Pachinger's four points on two goals and two assists. Pachinger also added two ground balls and two draw controls in the victory.

Hart led off the scoring with a goal at 23:07 on Saturday, but the Crusaders were able to knot the score at 1-1 at 19:58 on a marker by Emily Colson.

The Chargers then proceeded to take control of the matchup with five unanswered tallies over the next 12 minutes with Hart and Megan Hartnett each scoring two goals in that span. However, each side would add two goals prior to the end of the period as the Blue and White would take an 8-3 lead into the break.

UAH led off the scoring in the second half with Alex Pruneski scoring for the squad at 19:51, but North Greenville added a pair of tallies at 19:40 and 16:58 to slim the Chargers lead to 9-5.

The Blue and White were able to extend the advantage to 12-5 with a trio of markers by Hart at 16:48, Pachinger at 8:52, and Elizabeth Brown at 5:40, before North Greenville made a late push with three goals over the final six minutes to bring the game to its 12-8 final.

Haleigh Comp improved her season record to 13-3 in goal for the Chargers with the victory, posting a total of eight saves in the matchup.

The Chargers look ahead to the Gulf South Conference Invitational Tournament on April 22 and April 24 at the highest seed's campus, which will be decided this evening after the league matchup between Shorter and Young Harris.
