ROME, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team dropped its road contest on Saturday, falling 24-8 to host Shorter. UAH slips to 3-8 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 7-7.

The Chargers will close out the inaugural season next Saturday when the team travels to Emmanuel College for a 3 p.m. CDT contest.

Collin Wilcox turned in his second consecutive strong day scoring, scoring three times to give himself seven goals in the team's past two games, while Daniel Wilson, Jr., recorded his fifth multi-goal performance of the season as he scored twice.

The team's offensive leader Kevin Coppinger scored his 18th goal of the season while also adding a pair of assists to move to 29 points on the season, and James Cox and Quincy Ward added UAH's other two goals.

Colton Nall logged a team-best six ground balls, while John Forrest Ruble scooped up five and also won 12 faceoffs.

Parker Lane created a team-high three turnovers.

The Hawks established an early advantage, leading 6-2 by the 14:51 mark of the second quarter, but UAH had an answer with Wilson, Jr., scoring the first of four straight Charger goals with Ward and Cox scoring before Wilcox scored an equalizer at the 3:21 mark.
