HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball squad opened up its Gulf South Conference slate with a dominant 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-9) win over West Georgia on Tuesday evening at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. UAH improves to 6-1 (1-0 GSC), while UWG slips to 3-5 (0-1 GSC)
 
Inside the Box Score
- The Chargers benefitted from a trio of attackers reaching double-digit kills as Anna Claire Johnson, Anna LeDuc and Caroline Sanford notched 10 kills apiece.
- LeDuc paced UAH with a .600 hitting percentage, followed by Sanford's .533 swing rate.
- Kirsten Giles posted a team-high 32 assists and 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
- UAH outhit West Georgia by a total of .455 to .110, with the Chargers notching swing rates of .500 or higher in the second and third set.

Turning Point
- UAH quickly led early into the first set, as the squad led 7-2 after nine volleys en route to the 25-19 win. The Chargers had three runs of 3-0 or better during the frame.
- After being tied early at 5-5 in the second stanza, the Chargers benefitted from a 5-0 rally with Johnson serving to extend the lead to 13-7.
- The Blue and White continued to roll into the final frame of the night, jumping out to a 17-2 lead and ending the contest on a 25-9 win in the third set.

- UAH has started GSC play with a victory for the past three seasons.
- The Chargers team hitting percentage of .455 was the highest team swing rate in any game over the past five year.
