OPENING STRONG: The Chargers began the 2016 campaign this past Saturday as part of the UAH Classic at Spragins Hall, and the Blue and White came away with victories over Ouachita Baptist, Spring Hill and Kentucky Wesleyan. UAH has now won eight consecutive games in the UAH Classic dating back to the 2014 season.

LIMITING THE ATTACK: UAH has averaged 10.33 total blocks per match – aided by freshman
Caroline Sanford's team-best 12 block assists – over the initial three contests this season, including a pair of 12.0-total block performances against SHC and OBU. Last season, the Chargers managed just two games with 10 total blocks.

HELPING HANDS: Kirsten Giles had a strong opening to her junior campaign, as the Hazel Green, Alabama, native posted a total of 121 assists for an 11.00 assists per set average while also pacing the squad defensively with 37 digs and 3.36 digs per set over the three victories. Giles currently ranks third in the GSC in assists per set.

SWEET SWINGING: Anna Claire Johnson led the UAH offense in the three season-opening victories, as the junior registered a team-high 43 kills on a .316 hitting percentage. The Chargers also benefitted from strong performances by sophomores
Anna LeDuc (23 kills) and
Lorah Yonce (24 kills).

MATCHUP HISTORIES: The Chargers hold all-time records of 1-5 against Missouri St. Louis and 13-3 against Trevecca Nazarene, while UAH will take on Walsh for the first time in program history on Friday. UAH has matched up with TNU in each of the past two seasons, and the squad last played Missouri-St. Louis in the 2010 season.
