ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The UAH women's basketball team continues Gulf South Conference play this week, traveling to the Magnolia State to take on Mississippi College on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. before turning around to visit Delta State at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Chargers carry a 2-10 (1-6 GSC) record into the pair of games.

In the victory over the Bulldogs, a pair of Chargers recorded a double-double with Katie Speegle scoring 13 and grabbing 10 boards and Chandler Elder chipping in with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

AROUND THE GSC: There is a logjam at the top of the conference standings with each of North Alabama, Lee, West Florida, and Valdosta State tied at 5-2, and both West Georgia and Shorter are tied for fifth with 4-3 records. CBU is in seventh with an even 4-4 mark, and Mississippi College and Delta State are tied for eighth at 3-4.

FROM DOWNTOWN: UAH has had success from beyond the arc this season, ranking third in 3-point field goal percentage in the GSC with a success rate of 32.4 percent. The Chargers have made multiple 3-pointers in each game, and the team's season-high in treys made came in a win against Trevecca Nazarene when UAH hit 14.

ON THE GLASS: Chandler Elder has been a strong rebounder this season, leading the team with 6.5 rebounds per contest, and that mark is even better in league play as she is 11th in the conference in GSC games with a rebounding average of 8.0. In the team's past nine games, the junior has recorded no less than six rebounds.

ABOUT MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE: The Choctaws are 5-5 (3-4 GSC) on the year, and all five wins have come in Clinton where the team is 5-2 and where they have won two straight with wins over West Alabama and West Georgia. Ashley Minor and Kelley Allen lead the team offensively with 13.3 and 13.2 points per game, respectively, while Allen is also the team's top rebounder with 7.6 boards per game to go along with 30 steals and 11 blocks.

ABOUT DELTA STATE: The Lady Statesmen enter play this week at 6-6 overall and 3-4 in league play, and the team will host North Alabama on Thursday looking to build upon its perfect 5-0 mark at Sillers Coliseum. DSU averages just 57.1 points per game, but the team is once again strong defensively, giving up just 55.8 points per contest. Alondrea Rush leads a trio of players who score in double figures with a scoring average of 12.0 points.
