HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team picked up a thrilling victory in overtime on Monday night, knocking off visiting North Alabama 76-75 at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 4-15 (3-11 Gulf South Conference), while the rival Lions slip to 15-5 (9-5 GSC).

Turning Point
-With the Chargers trailing by three and the game winding down,
Caroline Dodd hit a 3-pointer with 4.3 seconds left to tie the game and force overtime, and
Chandler Elder then would break a tie with a free throw with 1.1 seconds left in the extra period to give UAH a 76-75 lead.

Inside the Box Score
-Elder led the Chargers in the contest as she scored 21 on the strength of three 3-pointers, and she also grabbed a team-best six rebounds while handing out three assists.
-Also scoring in double figures was Dodd who hit five triples on her way to registering 17 points.
-Ivy Wallen led North Alabama in the game with 35 points.
-The Chargers shot a strong 52.0 percent overall and were 12-for-20 from beyond the arc, and the team held UNA to a 38.5 percent shooting night.
-UNA held a 36-31 advantage on the glass.
-While the guests owned a 24-10 margin in points off turnovers, UAH's reserves held a significant 33-7 advantage on the North Alabama bench.

-After the Chargers grabbed the game's first lead and with the team leading 4-2 just two minutes into the contest, UNA went on an 8-0 run to go in front 10-4, and the guests would hold that same margin at the end of the first quarter by leading 17-11.
-UAH then had two 5-0 runs in the second quarter with the first making it a 20-19 game at the 8:10 mark and a 26-24 contest with 5:09 on the clock, but the Lions would close the period on an 11-4 run to go into the half on top 37-28.
-The guests would expand their advantage to 11 at 41-30 by eight-minute mark of the third period, but UAH then reeled off an 18-6 run over the next 5:51 to regain the lead at 48-47 with 2:14 left in the quarter.
-The lead would then exchange hands four times, and the game would be tilted in UAH's favor 53-52 going into the fourth.
-North Alabama proceeded to open up the fourth quarter by outscoring UAH 12-4 to go in front by seven at 64-57 with 5:18 left in regulation, but Elder and Dodd would combine to hit three straight triples to put the Chargers back in front at 66-64 with just over three minutes remaining.
-The Lions then scored six of the next seven to go back ahead by three at 70-67 before the game-tying triple from Dodd.
-In the extra period, Elder would prove to make the ultimate play of the game when she stole it away from Wallen in the final seconds before being fouled and making the one free throw with 1.1 seconds left.

Noteworthy
-The Chargers are now 3-1 in overtime under
Andrea Lemmond, and Monday's contest marks the first overtime contest since a 68-65 win over West Florida at home on Jan. 23, 2016.
-Elder has now scored in double figures in four straight games, and the 21-point showing represents a career-best matching performance as she also scored 21 against Lee on Jan. 21.
-Dodd notches 17 points for the third time this year to match her career-best showing. She also scored 17 in the road game at UNA on Dec. 4 and again at Valdosta State on Jan. 2.
