ROME, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team swept the weekend road trip, blowing past Shorter 7-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Chargers improve to 8-5-2 (7-1-2 Gulf South Conference), while the Hawks drop to 3-12-0 (2-8-0 GSC).

Turning Points
-The Chargers wasted no time getting on the board as
Guy Clennett scored in the sixth minute of the contest, and the team padded its lead in the 14th when
Jordan Wright scored to make it 2-0.
-The score remained that way until the 41st minute when
Daniel Hearle set up
Nolan Dillon's score, and the visiting side went into the halftime break up 4-0 after
Shane Woodruff who gave it to
Corentin Diverres in the 43rd minute.
-UAH added onto its lead when Wright scored in the 72nd, while Diverres made it a 6-0 game in the 83rd.
-Wright then tallied his third score in the 84th before the Hawks were able to capitalize on a penalty kick in the 88th to produce the eventual 7-1 final.

Inside the Box Score
-UAH outshot the Hawks by a 25-9 margin in the contest including a wide 14-3 differential in shots that were on goal, and the Chargers also enjoyed a 4-3 edge in corners.
-Wright paced the team with eight shots, and both he and Diverres fired a team-high four that were on target.

Myles Fullen earned the win in goal for UAH, recording a pair of saves in the process.

Noteworthy
-The seven goals mark a season high for the Chargers.
-Wright's hat trick is the first of the season by a Charger, and it is the first since
Hermann Bjornsson scored three times against Spring Hill on Oct. 23 of last season.
-The three-goal showing from Wright is his best scoring output since scoring seven times against Oakwood on Sept. 7, 2005, and the senior's second multi-goal performance of this season gives him a team-best 10 goals on the year.
-For Diverres, Sunday's performance is his third straight with two goals, and he leads the team with 25 points on the year—two ahead of Wright's 23.
-Clennett's strike is his second of the year, while Dillon also tallied his second of the season.
-Fullen's win total in net moves to eight.
