UAH Cruises to 3-0 Victory at Auburn Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-22, 25-15) over Gulf South Conference opponent Auburn Montgomery on Friday afternoon. UAH improves to 13-7 (4-3 GSC), while AUM slips to 7-10 (1-6 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- Aided by five service aces as a team in the 25-17 first-set win, UAH took the early lead in the opening stanza on the way to the three-set victory with wins of 25-22 and 25-15 in the second and third sets, respectively.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Junior Anna LeDuc paced the UAH attack with eight kills and a .304 hitting percentage, followed by Lorah Yonce with six kills and Caroline Sanford with five successful swats.
- Haley Hop anchored the defense with a match-best 18 digs, while Anna Claire followed with 13 digs and tied for the team-lead in total blocks with three.
- Sanford additionally recorded three total blocks with one block solo and two block assists.
- Three Chargers had two service aces apiece including LeDuc, Johnson and Hop.
- Kirsten Giles led the squad with 18 assists in addition to four digs, three kills, and one service ace.
- UAH held Auburn Montgomery to a .019 hitting percentage in three sets, with the War Hawks posting a match-low -.086 in the match-sealing third set.

- UAH has held opponents to hitting percentages of .100 or lower on eight occasions, which lowers the squads opponent hitting percentage to .146 in 2017.
- Hop has totaled 18 or more digs in three-set matches in four matches this season.
