HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team cruised to a 12-0 victory in its final non-conference game of the season, blowing past Oakwood at Charger Park on Monday night. The Chargers improve to 5-7 with the victory.

Riley Ridgeway opened the scoring on an unassisted tally in the fifth minute, and the Chargers went ahead 2-0 when
Lauren Mayer converted a penalty kick in the eighth.
-The home team then scored seven more times in the opening half – with the goals coming from
Arieal Alexander,
Gabby Westenberger,
Carly Fee,
Annie Burd,
Amanda Elsey, and
Raichele Langford (who scored twice in the first half) – to build up a 9-0 advantage at the half.
-The scoring was rounded out by
Brynn Colvin, Burd and Langford in the second 45 minutes to create the 12-0 final.

Inside the Box Score
-The Chargers fired off 50 shots in the contest including 23 of which were on goal, and UAH held Oakwood without a shot until the final minute of play when
Megan Buford was forced to make her only save of the night.
-UAH also earned eight corners while surrendering none to the Ambassadors.
-Burd paced the squad with eight shots along with leading the team with six that were on target.

Noteworthy
-The Chargers establish a program record for assists in a game with 13. The previous high of 12 had been accomplished twice, and the 13 assists are tied for the third-most in GSC history.
-The hat trick for Langford is the first of her career and the first for a UAH player since the Oakwood contest on Sept. 26 of last season.
-The goals for Westenberger, Fee, and Burd represent the first collegiate tallies for those players.
-Burd recorded a team-best seven points on the strength of her two goals and three assists, while Langford had six points on the three scores. Colvin matched Burd's assist total and thus finished with five points, while Westenberger had a pair of assists and the goal to notch four points.
-Buford picked up her fifth win of the season in goal for UAH.
