HUNTSVILLE | Amanda Elsey scored with seven seconds remaining in regulation, lifting The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team to a thrilling 2-1 victory over visiting Christian Brothers on Friday night at Charger Park. The Chargers improve to 6-7-0 (4-6-0 Gulf South Conference), while CBU slips to 8-4-1 (6-3-1 GSC).
 
Turning Points
-The game was a scoreless affair through the first 69 minutes until Bailey Tadlock tallied for the guests to put the Lady Bucs up 1-0, but the Chargers had an answer just over seven minutes later in the 76th when Hannah Oglesby's corner was booted in by Riley Ridgeway to knot the contest at 1-1.
-With the prospect of overtime looming large over the proceedings, the Chargers pushed forward with urgency in the closing seconds of the period, and freshman Carly Fee pushed it to Amanda Elsey who buried it in the 90th minute to give the Chargers the victory.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Christian Brothers established a 15-8 advantage in shots on the evening, but the shot on goal margin was just one at 7-6 in favor of the visiting side.
-The Lady Bucs also held a 5-2 advantage in corners in the game.
-Sydney Pfankuch led the Chargers with three shots in the game, and each of her efforts were on target as she led all players in the contest with three shots on goal.
-Megan Buford recorded the win in goal for the Chargers, stopping five shots to earn her sixth victory of the year.
 
Noteworthy
-The score for Elsey is her second of the season, while the freshman Fee picks up her second assist of the year. The points for both represent their first in a GSC game.
-Ridgeway now owns a team-high six goals which pads her team lead in points as she now sits on 16.
-Oglesby now has points in two of the past three games for UAH.
-The Chargers are just three points out of a tie for the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament, sitting behind West Georgia who has played one more game than UAH and West Alabama who has 15 points on 10 league games.

-The Chargers will be back in action at Charger Park on Sunday afternoon when the squad welcomes Union to town. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
