UAH Falls 2-0 at Home on Sunday to Union

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team fell on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 2-0 decision to visiting Union at Charger Park. The Chargers slip to 6-8-0 (4-7-0 Gulf South Conference), while the Bulldogs improve to 4-8-0 (4-7-0 GSC).
 
Turning Points
-Union opened its scoring in the 27th minute when Alli Herring tallied, and the team built onto its lead in the 43rd minute as Hannah Hewett scored to create the eventual 2-0 final.
-The Chargers nearly cut their deficit in half right out of the gates in the second half, but Baylie Spring's effort caromed off the post in the 49th minute.
 
Inside the Box Score
-The visiting Bulldogs held a 20-6 advantage in shots, and Union also built up a 7-1 advantage in attempts that were on frame.
-UAH earned a pair of corners in the contest, while Union earned three.
-Arieal Alexander came off the bench to lead the Chargers with two shots, while Rachel Collins had the lone effort on goal for UAH.
-Megan Buford made five stops while taking the setback in goal for the Chargers.
 
Noteworthy
-Buford also made five stops on Friday night against Christian Brothers, giving her 10 saves on the weekend and 16 stops in her last four games.
-Buford's 71 saves continue to lead the GSC.

-The Chargers return to the road next weekend, starting with a Friday evening visit to Lee. Kick-off in Cleveland, Tennessee, is slated for 6 p.m. CDT.
