Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Buford Dazzles in Tough Setback at No. 17 Lee

CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team put up a strong fight against the nation's 17th-ranked team, but Lee was able to use a late goal to secure a 1-0 victory on Friday night. UAH slips to 6-9-0 (4-8-0 Gulf South Conference), while the Flames improve to 11-4-0 (10-2-0 GSC).

Turning Point
-The hosts could push nothing past UAH keeper Megan Buford until the 85th minute when Kelsey Yoder scored what proved to be the game-winner in the contest.

Inside the Box Score
-The Flames fired off 34 shots in the contest including 13 that were on target, and the hosts built up a 5-0 advantage in corners.
-Buford was stellar in goal for UAH, recording 12 saves before the late goal, and seven of those stops came in the opening half to keep the contest scoreless at the break.
-There were 25 fouls whistled in the contest with 20 of those being called on the Chargers.

Noteworthy
-The 12 saves for Buford is a season-best for the freshman who now pads her GSC lead in stops as she has 83 on the season, and it marks the second time this season that she has recorded double figures in saves.
-Lee marks the fourth nationally-ranked opponent the Chargers have faced this year, and the result is the second 1-0 setback to one of those teams.

Next Time Out
-The Chargers will wrap up the road slate on Sunday when the team ventures to Rome, Georgia, to face Shorter. Kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. CDT.
