HUNTSVILLE | A big second half lifted The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team to an 88-70 victory over visiting Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday night at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. The Chargers improve to 2-1 on the season, while TNU slips to 0-3.

Turning Point
-With the guests leading 41-30 at the halftime break, UAH scored 18 of the first 23 points in the second half to erase the deficit completely on a Malik Cook-Stroupe layup that gave him seven points during the strong spurt.

Inside the Box Score
-Four players scored in double figures for the Chargers with Justin Ward once again leading the way as he poured in 24 on an 8-for-14 showing from the floor which included five 3-pointers, and he was joined by Cook-Stroupe who scored 17 of his 18 points in the second half.
-Ward also notched a double-double as he grabbed 10 rebounds, and he also logged a block, steal and assist.
-Rounding out the double-figure scorers for UAH were Kip Owens and Seth Swalve who both scored 11, and all 11 for the reigning GSC Freshman of the Week Swalve came in the second 20 minutes.
-Owens dished out a team-best four assists, and each of Tanner Finley, Swalve, and Cook-Stroupe handed out three in the contest.
-Jacob Williams paced the Trojans as he matched Ward's 24-point showing.
-On the night, UAH shot 51.6 percent from the floor while limiting the Trojans to a 37.1 percent mark, and the guests won the battle on the glass by a 44-35 margin.

Inside the Flow
-The Trojans used a 7-0 run early in the first half to build up a 13-5 advantage at the 15:53 mark of the stanza, and though UAH would narrow the gap to two on a pair of occasions, TNU outscored the hosts 17-8 over the last 6:49 of the half to go into the locker room up 41-30.
-After UAH went up by a pair at 48-46 at the 14:00 mark thanks to the strong start to the half by Cook-Stroupe, Trevecca outscored UAH 11-8 over the next 4:58 as the lead exchanged hands five times with the Trojans going up 57-56 with 9:02 left in the game.
-The Chargers then proceeded to blow the contest wide open, going on a 23-5 run in just over five minutes to claim a 79-62 lead with 3:53 remaining in the game, and the hosts would not allow TNU to pull any closer than 13 the rest of the way.

-Ward has led UAH in scoring in all three games on the year, and the senior is averaging 21.3 points per contest to go along with a rebounding mark that has increased to a team-best 6.7 points per contest.
-UAH protected the basketball on Thursday night, giving it away a season-low 13 times while logging a season-high 19 assists.

-The Chargers will hit the road on Saturday for the middle game in the three-in-five stretch, taking on Oakland City. Tip-off in the Hoosier State is slated for 3 p.m.
