UAH Claims Series Split with 3-2 Win Saturday

MARQUETTE, Mich. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team earned the WCHA series split on Saturday night with a 3-2 victory over Northern Michigan at Berry Events Center. UAH improves to 6-9-1 (5-4-1 WCHA), while NMU dips to 8-8-0 (6-4-0 WCHA).
 
Turning Point
-  Huntsville native Josh Kestner potted one unanswered tally in the waning moments of the first period at 19:57 before giving the Chargers a 3-2 advantage which went on to be the night's final.
 
Scoring Breakdown
- Northern Michigan found the scoreboard first on a power-play tally by Darien Craighead at 13:48 of the first period.
- UAH knotted the contest at 1-1 with a marker by John Teets at 17:01 of the first.
- After Troy Loggings helped the Wildcats regained the advantage at 2-1 at 17:58 of the first, Kestner proceeded to drive UAH to victory with goals at 19:57 of the first and 1:48 of the second to give UAH the 3-2 win.

- The Chargers totaled 21 shots on goal on the night, paced by Kestner with four shots on target.
