BOCA RATON, Fla. | For the second time in as many days, the No. 23 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team split with a Sunshine State Conference opponent, falling 1-0 in extra innings to Lynn before rebounding with a 6-1 win in the second game. UAH moves to 7-3 on the year, while Lynn goes to 2-4.

Â-Spoiling a terrific performance by
Tyler Harrison in the circle, the Fighting Knights took advantage of the international tie breaker by sacrificing the runner placed on second to third so that she could score when Francais Olexa reached on an infield single in the bottom half of the ninth inning.

-Harrison picked up the tough-luck loss as she tossed all 8.1 innings, only allowing three hits and the one run – which is not earned – while walking none and striking out 11. The senior retired the first 16 batters she faced in order before giving up her first hit of the game in the sixth.
-In addition to driving in the winning run, Olexa earned the complete game victory in the circle for Lynn as she surrendered just three hits and one walk while striking out three.

-UAH picked up its first hit of the game early with just one gone in the top of the first when Malone doubled down the right field line, but Olexa retired the next two in order to end the scoring threat.
-The guests would threaten again as another one-out double – this time from Wascavage – gave the Chargers a runner in scoring position in the top of the second, but she would be out at third when
Brooke Miller reached on a fielder's choice to help keep the game scoreless.
-In the home half of the sixth, Lynn put runners at first and second with one out before Harrison induced a pair of fly outs to end the inning, and
Kaitlyn Bannister's defensive prowess helped squash a threat in the bottom of the seventh when she turned a key double play on a sacrifice bunt attempt after a leadoff single.
-Harrison's last strikeout came in the eighth when she extended the game by getting the third out of the frame via a punch out with a runner at third for Lynn.
-The Chargers were able to sacrifice the runner placed on second over to third in the top of the ninth, but a ground out and fly out ended the inning to setup Lynn's victory in the bottom frame.

Â-The 11 strikeouts for Harrison represents a career-best for the senior who had previously struck out 10 in three games including on Thursday night at Nova Southeastern.
-Including the nightcap, UAH pitchers have now struck out 68 batters on the year which is 30 more than North Alabama who ranks second in the GSC with 38.
-Both Malone and Wascavage now have a pair of doubles on the season.

-Bannister went 2-for-3 in the nightcap and drove in three runs to help lead the Chargers to the win, providing more than enough support for
Emily Glover who scattered three hits in the circle.

-The Chargers totaled 12 hits in the contest as each of Thompson, Bannister, Harrison, and
Shannon Long had a pair of hits in the game.
-Wascavage also had a hit in the contest while additionally drawing a pair of walks and scoring twice.
-UAH stole five bases in the contest with Wascavage leading the way with two.
-Glover worked around the three hits, surrendering just an unearned run while walking only one and striking out four on her way to improving her record to 4-1 on the season.

-Thompson's 2-for-3 showing moves her batting average to a team-best .500, and she leads the GSC in runs with 15.
