UAH Routs Oklahoma Baptist in Season-Opening Win

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team opened its 2017 campaign in dominant fashion with a 21-7 victory over Oklahoma Baptist on Friday afternoon at Charger Park.
 
Turning Point
- With the game tied at 3-3 with 20:34 remaining in the first half, the Chargers registered a total of 10 goals to the Bison's two goals over the final 20 minutes to lead 13-5 heading to the break.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Reigning GSC Freshman of the Year Nicole Federovitch paced the Chargers with seven points on five goals and two assists, followed by freshman Jenna Carr with four points from three goals and one assist.
- Kinta Schott led all UAH defenders with three goals in the game.
- Junior Natalie Pachinger led the Chargers defensively with four caused turnovers and six ground balls while also adding a pair of goals.
- Freshman Jordan Gaines registered a team-best four draw controls in the win.
 
Noteworthy
- This was the first time the Chargers have won their home opener.
- UAH has started out both seasons in program history with a victory.

- UAH heads out on the road for the first time in 2017 next week with a visit to Shorter at 4 p.m. on Wednesday before turning around and heading to Young Harris for a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday.
