ROME, Ga. | The No. 18 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team traveled to Shorter on Thursday and fell 100-87. The Chargers slip to 16-5 (12-3 Gulf South Conference), while Shorter improves to 13-8 (7-8 GSC).

Turning Point
-An 18-7 run over 4:32 early in the first half turned a one-point Charger lead into a 10-point advantage for the hosts, and Shorter would not relinquish the lead the rest of the way.

Inside the Box Score
-Five different Chargers scored in double figures in the high-scoring affair with
Brandon Roberts leading the way with an 8-for-14 night from the floor allowing him to score 21 points.

Seab Webster scored 16 on the night thanks to four 3-pointers, while
Troy Saxton added 13,
Kip Owens scored 12, and
Michael Gilmore chipped in with 11. Owens also hit four 3-pointers, while Saxton had three and Gilmore knocked down two.
-On the night, the Chargers shot 49.2 percent overall and went 18-for-36 from beyond the arc, while Shorter connected on 42.9 percent of its attempts including a 15-for-34 showing from 3-point land.
-The Hawks earned 31 trips to the free throw line and made 25 of their tries, while UAH went to the stripe just seven times and made each of its attempts.
-Shorter also held a 23-10 advantage in points off turnovers and a 15-0 margin in second-chance points off of a 44-30 edge in rebounding.

-The lead exchanged hands three times in the opening two and a half minutes of the game before Shorter went on the aforementioned 18-7 run to go up by 10 at 23-13 at the 13:14 mark of the opening half.
-After Shorter went up by 11 on a pair of occasions, the guests would score five straight to cut it to six after an Owens triple made it 31-25, but Shorter went on an 11-0 run to go ahead by 17 en route to eventually leading 55-40 at the halftime break.
-The Chargers would narrow the gap to 11 twice in the second half, but Shorter had an answer both times and held on the for the victory as neither team was able to string together more than six straight points in the period.

Noteworthy
-The 31 free throw attempts for the Hawks matches the season high by an opponent this year as Tampa also had 31 trips to the stripe on Nov. 13.
-Thursday night's setback is the first this season for the Chargers in a game in which the team outshot the opposition from the floor.
-UAH has now registered double figures in 3-pointers in five straight games, and the team is shooting 47.4 percent from 3-point land during that stretch by going 74-for-156.
-With his third consecutive 20-point game, Roberts is now averaging a season-high 16.1 points per game.
