BOCA RATON, Fla. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team fell to Sunshine State Conference affiliate Lynn by a score of 7-5 on Friday afternoon to open the 2017 season. UAH slips to 0-1, while LU improves to 1-0.

Nolan Ramsey went 3-for-4 as the squad's designated hitter with one run scored, two RBI and a home run.

- UAH started strong on Friday to lead 2-0 heading into the bottom of the first, as both Ware and
Ben Rhodes would score after leading off the frame with back-to-back base hits.
- The Chargers added to the lead in the top of the fifth on a solo home run by Walden, which was the first UAH homer of the season.
- However, Lynn negated the Walden tally in the bottom half of the fifth on a home run by Miguel Cabellos.
- Ramsey's second hit of the contest – a two-run shot to right-center – pushed the UAH lead to 5-1 in the top of the sixth.
- After UAH made it a four-run lead, Lynn responded with a four-run rally in the seventh to tie it prior to Ceballos giving the hosts a 7-5 lead and eventual victory with another homer in the bottom of the eighth.
