GULF SHORES, Ala. | The 23rd-ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team bounced back from an 8-2 setback to Rollins to start the day on Saturday by run-ruling Embry-Riddle 8-0 in five innings. The Chargers move to 3-1 with the split, Rollins improves to 1-1, and ERAU goes to 2-2.

-With the game tied at 2-2 going into the bottom of the third, the Tars scored twice in frame and then busted the game open with a four-spot in their half of the fourth to produce the eventual 8-2 final.

-The Chargers were limited to five hits in the contest, and the biggest one came off the bat of
Kaitlyn Bannister who belted a two-run homer. The senior finished the contest 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.

Reagan Malone also had a hit in the game, and she was on base to score the other UAH run on the Bannister blast.
-Sarah Harrison led the Tars as she was 2-for-3 with three runs.
-Picking up the loss in the circle for UAH was
Tyler Harrison who gave up seven hits and six runs of which four were earned, and she struck out three while also walking three.
-Sarah Piening went the distance in earning the win for the Tars.

-Rollins opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first with a two-out single driving in a pair of runs to make it 2-0.
-The score remained that way until Malone reached on an error in the top of the third ahead of Bannister who drew a 2-0 count before depositing it over the fence in left.
-The Tars then added the six runs across the third and fourth innings while holding UAH to just two additional hits to wrap up the contest.

Lexi Beach single up the middle scoring Thompson to make it a 1-0 lead, and RBI singles from Hayes, Wascavage, and
Brooke Miller in the third inning drove in three runs putting the Chargers up 4-0.
-After earning momentum from a strike 'em out, throw 'em out that ended the top of the fourth, the team then produced another pair of runs in the fourth when Hayes reached on a fielding error by the ERAU shortstop that allowed Cornell to score and a productive groundout from Wascavage drove in Bannister to lift UAH to a 6-0 advantage.
-The game then ended in the fifth when Bannister doubled in Thompson and Cornell to produce the 8-0 final.

-Thompson has now scored three times in three of the team's four games to lead the team with nine runs on the year.
-Through the four games, Bannister is batting .667, and four of her eight hits are for extra bases as she has two doubles and two homers while driving in a team-best seven RBI.

Erin Jewell came off the bench to record her first collegiate hit, doubling to the gap in right center to lead off the fifth inning.
