GULF SHORES, Ala. | The No. 23 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team wrapped up play at the Gulf Coast Invitational on Sunday, routing Miles 17-2 before blowing past Tuskegee 11-0. The Chargers improve to 5-1 on the season.

Kaitlyn Bannister continued her torrid start to the season as she was 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs to lead the offensive onslaught.

-After the first two batters were retired in the UAH half of the first, Bannister belted the first of her two doubles to start the big inning.
Jada Hayes, Harrison,
Haley Thompson, Bannister, and Wilson all drove in runs later on in the frame.
-Miles scored a run in both the third and fourth innings to make it 11-2 before the Chargers erupted for six more runs in the fourth. In that inning,
Emilee Spann, Miller, Burns, Beach, and Bannister each knocked in runs to make the 17-2 final.

-The 17 runs scored is the highest for the team since also scoring 17 against Christian Brothers on March 5 of last season.
-The win for Murray comes in the freshman's first appearance in the circle.

Â-Seven different players combined for 10 hits which was more than enough offensive support for
Emily Glover who took a perfect game one out into fourth inning before finishing by surrendering two hits and no runs while striking out six and walking none over four innings.

-Beach, Hayes, and Long all had two hits in the game, while Bannister drove in a pair of runs and Long pushed four across.
-Thompson scored twice as did Hayes and Long.
-Long had the lone hit for extra bases in the game as she hit one out to straightaway center in the fourth.
-The Chargers totaled six walks in the contest.

-Bannister establishes the UAH all-time record for career sacrifice flies as she now has 15. She entered the season tied with Stephanie Pinto atop the statistical category with 14.
-Bannister ends the weekend with an impressive 13 RBI and a .632 average to go along with a slugging percentage of 1.158.
-Glover has now struck out 22 on the season while walking just three in 14.2 innings of work.
