UAH Tripped Up on Saturday by Lee at Spragins

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell to Lee by a final score of 73-61 in Saturday afternoon's Gulf South Conference matchup at Spragins Hall. UAH slips to 5-17(3-13 GSC), while LU improves to 16-6 (11-5 GSC).
 
Turning Point
- After both squads played closely in the first half, the Flames were able to eventually take control of the game in the second half outscoring the Chargers 39-29 in the final 20 minutes en route to the 73-61 win.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Baylee Johnson and Loren Foster shared the team lead in points with 18 in addition to a pair of rebounds apiece in the contest. Johnson also played a team-high 40 minutes.
- Chandler Elder also entered double-digit scoring with 12 points in addition to a team-best nine rebounds and four steals.
- UAH had a bevy of success from the foul line, shooting 11-for-12 on free throws overall.
- Erin Walsh led the visitors with a game-high 30 points.
 
Inside the Flow
- After Lee jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the first quarter, UAH battled back to own a 17-16 lead heading into the second quarter.
- The Flames pushed back ahead further in the second quarter, extending the lead to eight points at 29-21 with 4:08 to go but UAH did not relent and 11-5 in the last four minutes.
- Lee's offense came alive to score a total of 23 points in the third quarter, while holding UAH to its lowest quarter-point total of the night with 11 in the following quarter for the 73-61 win.
 
Noteworthy
- Johnson has registered 18 or more points in a game on four occasions.
- Elder's four steals were a season-best for the junior.
 
Next Time Out
- UAH returns to action next Thursday with a trip to West Alabama at 5:30 p.m., before turning around on Saturday to travel to West Georgia for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
