BACK ON THE ROAD: The UAH women's basketball team returns to action this week with a pair of road games, traveling to West Alabama on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. contest before going to West Georgia on Saturday where tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. CST. The Chargers are 4-17 (3-13 Gulf South Conference) on the year.

RECAPPING LAST WEEK: The Chargers dropped a pair of contests a week ago, falling 70-40 on the road at Shorter before being tripped up at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall by a 73-61 score at the hands of Lee.

AROUND THE GSC: West Florida continues to sit at the top of the league with its 13-3 record, while Lee and Valdosta State are tied for second with 11-5 records. A half-game behind in fourth place is North Alabama who is 10-6, while Christian Brothers is in fifth and holds a half-game lead over West Georgia with its 8-7 record. Union, Mississippi College, and Shorter are all locked in a tie for seventh at 7-9.

TAKE IT AWAY: UAH put together its best two-game stretch of the season in the steals statistical category last week as the team recorded a season-best 11 at Shorter before following that up with 10 against Lee, and both of those performances marked the first time this year the team had double-figures in steals. Chandler Elder recorded four in the game at Shorter, while Baylee Johnson matched that with four against Lee.

AT THE STRIPE: The Chargers rank fourth in the GSC with a 73.2 percent mark at the charity stripe on the season, and individually Johnson ranks third in the league with a success rate of 80.0 percent on her free throw attempts.

ABOUT WEST ALABAMA: The Tigers have dropped four in a row while going to 6-16 overall in the year and 3-12 in conference action. Ariel Wilson continues to lead UWA as she is averaging 16.0 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY: After West Alabama was a 77-65 winner back on Dec. 17, the Tigers now hold a 33-27 edge in the all-time series with the Chargers.

ABOUT WEST GEORGIA: The Wolves are 9-10 overall and right in the thick of things at 8-7 in league play, and the squad is paced by De'Ashia Jones who is nearly averaging a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds per contest.

SERIES HISTORY: The Wolves came to Huntsville on Dec. 15 and won 63-59, pushing them ahead in the all-time series by a 29-23 margin.
