LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The No. 22 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team picked up a 76-72 victory on the road on Thursday night, knocking off West Alabama to remain in a tie for first with Valdosta State. UAH moves to 18-5 (14-3 Gulf South Conference), while UWA slips to 9-13 (4-12 GSC).

-The Chargers went on a 14-8 run including a 9-for-10 showing from the free throw line in the final 4:51 of the game to turn a one-point lead for UWA into the eventual five-point final margin.

Seab Webster paced the Chargers with his second-straight 20-point showing as he scored 23 while also grabbing a team-best eight rebounds, and he was matched in double figures by fellow senior
Troy Saxton who scored 19 while dishing out a team-high seven assists and adding two steals.
-Seven other Chargers scored in the game including
Brandon Roberts who added nine, while
Kip Owens and
Justin Ward scored eight.
-West Alabama was led by Gavin Robinson who scored 34 while grabbing 10 rebounds.
-The Chargers finished the night shooting 51.1 percent overall and 12-for-25 from beyond the arc, while UWA shot 48.1 percent but was just 5-for-20 from 3-point land.
-The hosts won the battle on the glass, outrebounding the Chargers by a 31-25 margin, and though the Tigers had 10 offensive rebounds, they converted them into just nine second-chance points.

Inside the Flow
-The Chargers started off the contest by scoring eight of the first 10 points to go up 8-2 with the game just over three minutes old, but an 8-0 run for UWA would allow the Tigers to go in front 10-8 at the 14:25 mark.
-The lead would then exchange hands four times and there would be four ties before UAH ripped off a 14-2 run over nearly five minutes to go ahead 30-21 with 5:18 remaining until the half, but UWA would respond with a 9-2 spurt to cut it to 32-30 in favor of the Chargers at the half.
-The guests then would lead through much of the second half but never by more than six points, and the Tigers were able to use a 6-0 run to go in front 60-59 with 6:28 left in the game.
-UWA was enjoying that same one-point advantage at 64-63 with 4:53 left, but UAH would go 9-for-10 at the charity stripe and hold UWA to 1-for-7 from the field in the final minutes to wrap up the victory.

Noteworthy
-Webster has now breached the 20-point plateau on nine different occasions on the season.
-The 19 points for Saxton is one off of the senior's season-high of 20 which he has done twice – against Saint Leo on Nov. 12 and at Valdosta State on Jan. 2.
-The Chargers have dished out at least 10 assists in the last eight games and have gone 7-1 during that stretch, and the team has recorded double-digits in 3-pointers in the team's past six games.
