Les Stuedeman picked up her 1,000th win, the team pulled into a tie atop the conference standings, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team earned a road doubleheader sweep of North Alabama on Saturday afternoon. With their 13-6 and 10-3 wins, the Chargers move to 27-9 (15-5 Gulf South Conference) and push their winning streak to 10 games, while UNA slips to 22-12 (12-8 GSC).

Kaitlyn Bannister had another terrific outing as she went 3-for-5 with five RBI and three runs with a grand slam.

-The Chargers outhit the hosts by an 11-9 margin as
Brooke Miller and
Sarah Jordan both had two-hit games, while Miller also drove in three runs with one swing of the bat on a bases-loaded double.
-Four of UAH's hits were for extra bases as Jordan also had a home run while
Taylor Wascavage belted a double.
-UAH also drew six walks in the game with
Reagan Malone earning three free passes en route to scoring three times, and
Tyler Harrison also drew a pair of walks.

Ashley Cornell and Jordan both crossed the plate twice.
-Harrison earned the win the circle, working around nine hits while striking out four and walking none in the complete game victory which was her 10th win of the season.

-Malone led off the game with a walk which set in motion a first inning in which UAH perfectly manufactured a run as
Ashley Cornell sacrificed Malone to second before Bannister singled through the right side allowing Malone to be at third for Harrison who hit a sac fly to center for the game's first run.
-UNA would homer in the home half of the second to go up 2-1, but the Chargers quickly responded as Bannister would evade a tag at the plate to score the tying run in the top of the third.
-The Chargers then sent 10 batters to the plate in the fourth scoring six times in an inning which was punctuated by Miller's bases-clearing double off the wall in right that put the visitors up 8-2.
-After the Lions got one of the runs back in the fourth, Jordan hit a no-doubter to left center in the top of the fifth to put UAH up 9-3 before UNA would creep back into the game with a three-run homer of its own in the bottom frame.
-The teams then had the first scoreless inning of the game in the sixth before Bannister's grand slam dispensed any further suspense in the top half of the seventh.

-Bannister now has six grand slams in her career which is just one off of the NCAA Division II record of seven.
-The home run for Jordan is her first of the season, and it is her third of her time in Huntsville.
-Harrison now has 108 strikeouts on the season compared to just 14 walks.

Game Changer
-The 5-6-7 spots in the UAH lineup were on fire in the game as
Erin Jewell, Wascavage, and Miller each drove in three runs with Wascavage going 3-for-4 with another double.

-Helping UAH pound out 11 hits, Jewell also had a multi-hit showing as she was 2-for-4, and all but two spots in the lineup had a hit in the game.
-The Chargers also were patient at the plate again, drawing seven walks including a pair from Bannister and
Shannon Long.
-Harrison crossed the plate three times to lead the Chargers, while Bannister scored twice in the contest.
-UAH again had four hits for extra bases as in addition to Wascavage's double, Harrison had a two-bagger, while both Jewell and Miller homered.

Emily Glover went the distance in the nightcap, working around seven hits while striking out five and walking just one in moving to 12-3 on the season.

-The game was scoreless until the third inning when Wascavage singled up the middle for the game's first run before Miller hit a blast to right for a three-run jack that made it a 4-0 lead for the guests.
-UNA responded with a run in the bottom frame of the third, but an RBI single from Jewell and a two-run knock from Wascavage produced a three-run fourth for UAH who went up 7-1.
-Tacking on to the Charger advantage, Cornell had a sac fly in the fifth and Jewell belted a two-run homer to left in the sixth to make it 10-1 before UNA scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to create the eventual 10-3 final.

-With the six RBI across the two games for Miller, she is now second on the team with 25 on the year, and she is also second on the squad with four home runs.
-Jewell's homer is her third of the season.
