UAH Slips in Series Opener at West Alabama

LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team opened up a three-game Gulf South Conference series at West Alabama with an 11-1 loss in eight innings on Friday afternoon at Tartt Field. UAH dips to 21-24 (14-17 GSC), while UWA improves to 31-16 (20-10 GSC).
 
Game-Changer
- A seven-run bottom of the fourth in addition to a strong 8.0 innings by starter Seth Holbert helped West Alabama notch the series-opening 11-1 victory over UAH on Friday afternoon.
 
Inside the Box Score
- The Chargers recorded four base hits in the loss, as Ben Rhodes, AJ Walden, Trey Mathis and Nolan Ramsey had one hit apiece.
- Justin Ware recorded the squad's lone run scored, walk and stolen base.
- Walden registered one RBI to lead the offense.
- UAH starting pitcher Jake Bracewell worked 6.0 innings with eight runs allowed and three strikeouts to dip his season record to 2-4 on the year.
