MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Davenport on Sunday, wrapping up play at the 2017 Capital City Classic hosted by Auburn Montgomery. The Chargers slip to 1-3-0 on the year, while DU improves to 3-1-0.

Turning Points
-Davenport's Brogan Shrimpton opened the scoring in the 16th minute to make it a 1-0 game, but the Chargers would respond when
Jordan Wright tallied in the 25th to level the match at 1-1.
-The tie was broken, however, by Shrimpton just minutes later when he scored in the 34th, and he completed the hat trick in the 62nd for his eighth goal of the year.

-The Chargers held a 10-8 advantage in shots in the contest, but it was the Davenport side who enjoyed a lead in shots on goal by a 5-4 clip.
-DU also edged out UAH in corners by an 8-7 margin.
-Wright paced the team with five shots including a team-best two that were on frame.

Â-Sunday's contest marks the first this season in which UAH has outshoot the opposition, and the 10 shots is a season-best for the Chargers.
-UAH also establishes a season-high in corners, more than doubling the total from the previous three games combined in which the Chargers had earned just one per contest.
-The goal for Wright is the first of the season for the senior, and it marks the 14th of his career in the Blue and White.

-The Chargers will return to action for the 2017 home opener on Friday in a contest against Spring Hill that also represents the beginning of Gulf South Conference play. Kickoff at Charger Park is slated for 5 p.m.
