HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team scored in the first minute of play en route to a 3-1 victory over visiting Spring Hill in the Gulf South Conference opener for the Chargers. UAH improves to 2-3-0 (1-0-0 GSC), while SHC slips to 1-2-0 (0-1-0 GSC).

Turning Points
-UAH wasted no time gaining an early advantage as
Tucker Watts found
Corentin Diverres who put it away just 59 seconds into the contest, and the Chargers would go up 2-0 in the 24th when
Daniel Buchanan scored for the home side.
-The score remained that way through halftime, but the Badgers made the contest a one-goal affair quickly into the second half when Eirikur Eirksson scored in the 50th minute.
-The Chargers responded just six minutes later in the 56th when
Jordan Wright scored to create the eventual 5-1 final.

-Spring Hill held a 14-9 advantage in shots in the contest, but attempts that were on target even at five per side.
-The Badgers also enjoyed a 7-4 edge in corners on the evening.

-The goal for Buchanan is his first of the season and is his sixth career score, and the goal is the senior's fifth career game-winning strike.
-Diverres takes over the team lead in points with his second goal of the year, giving the Guidel, France, native five points, and Wright matches Diverres with two goals.
-Diverres and Wright are the only UAH players to have recorded multiple goals on the year.
-The assist for Watts is the first point on the year for the St. Louis native.
