HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win (25-23, 25-19, 25-21) over Valdosta State in a Gulf South Conference matchup on Friday evening at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. UAH improves to 11-4 (2-0 GSC), while VSU slips to 7-4 (2-1 GSC).

Turning Point
- After UAH took a 2-0 match lead with a 25-23 edging in the first and a 25-19 win in the second, the Chargers proceeded to earn the three-set sweep with a 25-21 victory in the third frame which included the Blue & White outscoring VSU 8-5 over the final 13 volleys for the win.

Inside the Box
- The Chargers offense was paced by
Anna Claire Johnson and
Caroline Sanford with nine kills apiece in the win.
- The UAH attackers boasted a .237 hitting percentage for the match, led by Sanford at .438 and fellow sophomore
Jordan Grammer at .375.
- Grammer also had a successful night on the attack with eight kills to rate second on the offense.
- A total of 10 total blocks were posted by the Chargers defense, as Sanford led the way in that category as well with five block assists and one solo block.
- Both
Isabelle Barnes and
Lorah Yonce posted four block assists to follow Sanford on the defensive end.

Haley Hop notched a game-high 17 digs to lead the defense, followed by
Sabrina Duncan with nine digs.

Kirsten Giles recorded a team-best 16 assists in addition to seven digs, followed by Duncan with 14 helpers.
- UAH held VSU to a .140 hitting percentage.
